Whisky Festivals in Japan in 2024

2024 promises to be an amazing year in the world of Japanese whisky. With the pandemic well and truly behind us, tantalizing events lie ahead.

What’s on in the first few few months of the Year of the Dragon:-

21 January (Sun) Nagoya Whisky Lovers. This event always has a tremendous selection of booths from industry giants to independent bottlers. Even bar owners and private individuals bring a selection of old bottles.

11 February (Sun) The second Yokohama Whisky Festival with tickets available at Pass Market. There will be a focus on Japanese whiskies this year.

18 February (Sun) Chichibu Whisky Matsuri, now in its 11th year.

24 March (Sun) Kurashiki Whisky Forum, in the home of Momotaro, the Peach Boy, and Japanese denim.

21 April (Sun) Whisky Harbour Kobe in the beautiful port city of Kobe in the Kansai region.

11 – 12 May (Sat and Sun) (To be confirmed) Tokyo International Bar Show, the fabulous industry event that brought us a near-riot five years ago.

12 May (Sun) Biwako Whisky Cruise.

25 – 26 May (Sat and Sun) Shizuoka Craft Beer and Whisky Fair. This event moves from its previous autumn timeslot.

9 June (Sun) Fukuoka Whisky Talk. One of the earliest and best whisky events in Japan, with legendary private bottle releases, particularly Chichibu and Mars.

4 August (Sun) Hokkaido Whisky Fes in Sapporo
