More Whisky Festivals in Japan: Fall 2023

2023 continues to be an outstanding year for whisky festivals in Japan, with a tantalizing set to come this fall (autumn).

28-29 October: Shizuoka Craft Beer and Whisky Fair. A fun free-to-enter outdoor event with a dozen Japanese whisky companies, burgers, BBQ, and bundles of craft beer from the home prefecture of Japanese craft beer.

28 October Hachioji Whisky Street. Liquor stores and bars bring a selection of their whisky bottles to this street party 45 minutes west of Shinjuku.

18-19 November Shimoda Whisky Fes. This new addition to the whisky festival calendar is located where Commodore Perry arrived with his black ships 170 years ago.

2-3 December Tokyo Whisky Festival. The largest whisky festival in Japan, running for more than fifteen years, goes from strength to strength. It’s well worth a trek to Japan to experience whiskies from all over the world.

And of course there are lots of whisky festivals to come in early 2024, particularly Nagoya Whisky Lovers (January) and Chichibu Whisky Matsuri (February).
