Excellent news from Nikka: both Yoichi and Miyagikyo will re-open for tours from Friday 17th July. At Japan Whisky Tours, we will be holding tours to Sendai and Sapporo — including these classic distilleries — in August (dates to be confirmed).

If you plan to make your way there on your own, make sure you reserve in advance on the websites for Yoichi and Miyagikyo. Note that, around the O-Bon holiday (8th to 16th August), there will be regular shuttle buses from Sakunami station to Miyagikyo distillery.
